Receive Text UpdatesMartell’s love for basketball when he was old enough to dribble. He was about 4 when I would take him to the community gym & shoot hoops, As he grew older , he would go to the parks & shoot hoops with the OG’s & kids twice his age. He’s always been inspired by a few NBA players, he would collect their cards, watch them play, learn their plays & practice their skills. what he loves most about playing basketball, is the competitiveness, the challenge, the feel of a win & the growth from a loss .
I would say my Grandma inspires me off the court . To be the best version of myself, work hard , be consistent, stay humble, never give up, be honest & respectful to others & to myself. when things get tough ,or if I’m frustrated to look at it & approach it with a different perspective. Which also helps on the court.
At the age of 12 , we had an old broken hoop in our driveway , Martell would spend hours, on hours, days turned into years of consistently trying to dunk. He worked hard , built leg muscle, core strength, grew a little taller, then one day , at 14 he finally mastered his dunk! His freshman year he played Varsity & his first summer game I’ll never forget , he stole the ball on a pass, fast break to the rim & got a beautiful dunk! This was one of many proud moments!
