MJ trains daily, leads younger kids, is ranked 2nd in NorCal Gi & No-Gi, and competes with heart lifting others on and off the mat.

She loves the thrill of competition and the challenge of testing her limits. She values the confidence that comes with knowing she can defend herself if needed. She’s grateful for the friendships she’s built along the way and above all, she cherishes the journey.
Her biggest inspirations are her dad and her coach, who’s also her cousin. They’ve taught her that no matter how tough life gets, you never give up. You keep pushing forward and work hard for the life you want because nothing worth having comes easy.
My proudest moments aren’t just from the medals she’s won—but from watching her push herself every single day to be better than she was yesterday. It’s the hard work, the dedication, and the countless hours she puts in behind the scenes that truly inspire me. Her greatest accomplishment so far was winning gold at the first-ever No-Gi Pan Americans, but what makes me most proud is simply being her dad.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
