This answer for Mason begins relatively simply. What he loves most, is the fact that he is blessed to be healthy enough, to wake up every single morning, and play them. Mason LIVES for healthy competition. Hockey, wrestling, football, soccer, skiing, basketball, even Chess. Strong grades/Early college for a medical degree is a sport to him. Joining honors societies. What Mason loves most, is that he was able to overcome life’s challenges to compete at high varsity/national levels.
His inspirations are his Papa who passed before they had the chance to meet but was a phenomenal athlete. Built a sports complex for the community. 2nd, Mason pushed himself far beyond his comfort zone to meet, even exceed his big brother Jaxons efforts. And he did. Mason became the youngest recruit for the National Ball hockey League (NBHL) to the Norseman. His rookie season, he lead the team in points, top scorer, again for national finals. Varsity ice, shattered every record of his brothers.
One? Him beating the odds. Mason fell ill, Chiari malformation(brain herniation)thyroid & immune disorder. His body quit on him, except he doesn’t know the meaning of the word. He crawled along on crutches when he couldn’t walk. He studied in hospitals while having brain scans to keep straight As. He had PT and chiropractic daily. He PUSHED. After 10 months of mandatory medical leave of all sports, he beat the odds. Cleared for hockey, he stepped on that varsity ice and lead his team to states.
