He shows up early and stays late, not because he has to, but because he knows hard work is the only way to grow. He truly loves the game and finds joy in every drill, every pass, every moment on the field. He is always encouraging others, lifting his teammates, and leading by example. For him, it is more than just a sport. It is his passion, his purpose, and where he feels most alive.
He’s inspired by his parents, who lead by example through discipline and hard work. His father immigrated to this country at a young age and has always worked tirelessly to give his best without expecting anything in return. No matter the circumstances, they’ve always pushed forward, showing him what it means to persevere and to always be there for others.
During a tournament we won in a penalty shootout, while his teammates ran to celebrate, Mathias, the team captain, went straight to console the opposing players who were in tears. He lifted them up with genuine empathy and grace. That moment moved me deeply, and even parents from the other team noticed. It showed me that his character is even stronger than his talent.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
