Receive Text UpdatesWhat I love most about basketball is being on the court and giving it my all. I like working on my shots, dribbling, and getting faster because it feels good to get better every day. The best part is having my Dad by my side, helping me and seeing my Mom cheering loud for me in the stance. Basketball has taught me to never give up, work hard, and always have fun doing what I love.
My dad inspires me on and off the court because he’s always by my side teaching me and pushing me to be better. He shows me how hard work pays off and to never give up, no matter what. My mom inspires me too because she’s always there cheering for me and believing in me. They both make me want to work hard, stay focused, and be the best I can be.
The proudest moment for me was when kids, and even a coach tried to make Matthew feel like he wasn’t good enough. Instead of letting it break him, he worked harder, stayed humble, kept showing up, and proved he belonged on that court. Watching him push through the negativity and still chase what he loves makes me so proud as his mom.
