Maya loves playing soccer because it’s fun, fast-paced, and lets her be part of a team. She enjoys making friends, celebrating goals, learning cool new moves, and feeling proud when she works hard and improves. Plus, running around outside and getting cheered on makes her feel confident and strong!
Maya’s teammates inspire her because they show what it means to work hard, never give up, and support each other—on and off the field. Watching friends push through challenges, cheer others on, and give their best effort makes her want to do the same.
I’m most proud of Maya for earning a spot on an RL soccer team at just 11 years old. This year, her team won the Eastern Region Pennsylvania Cup, and that accomplishment means so much to her. After being moved down a level last year, she worked incredibly hard to improve—and that hard work paid off when she earned her place back on a higher-level team.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
