Maya loves everything about playing sports, but what she enjoys most is being part of a team. She thrives on the energy of competition and the excitement of a close game. Whether she’s cheering on her teammates from the sidelines or giving it her all on the field, Maya always brings a positive attitude and team spirit. She loves the friendships she builds, the thrill of winning, and the chance to work together toward a common goal.
Maya is inspired by her mom and dad, who have always encouraged her to work hard and play with her heart. She also looks up to skilled women in professional sports who show strength, confidence, and leadership every time they compete. Their dedication motivates her to keep pushing herself and to dream big.
One of Maya’s proudest moments was scoring her first goal in hockey after joining an all-girls team. Instead of celebrating alone, she hugged her teammate, then looked to the stands and gave a big thumbs-up to her mom and her dad who was on the bench as her coach. In that moment, she wasn’t just proud of the goal—she was sharing it with her family who had been with her every step of the way.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
