Some reasons why I love playing sports: It started off as a way to improve my physical health, but quickly turned into something much more. It became a way to connect with others, building friendships with people I can now call my brothers. Sharing the love of the game with them has been incredible. The competition and challenges add another layer to it—the rush of adrenaline I get from being competitive and facing those challenges is like no other feeling.
What inspires me on the field is knowing that I’m playing for the team and that my hard work will pay off not just for me, but for my teammates is what truly inspires me on the field. Off the field, what drives me is my parents. They have supported me in everything I do and sacrificed time and money to make sure I can achieve my goals. That’s why one of my goals is to make sure they never have to worry about paying for my college education. Earning a scholarship is my gift to them.
The moment that made me the most proud was when Mekhi made his first touchdown. It was the culmination of all of his hard work and patience. It demonstrated that he was meant to be on the field. He went on to have his best year yet. I am excited for him to achieve all of his goals.
