What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

What Mia loves most about dance is that it gives her a safe space where she can let go of everything and just be herself. When she’s dancing, nothing else matters. She also treasures the friendships she’s made—everyone feels like family, and she truly couldn’t imagine her life without them.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

What inspires Mia the most is her mom. She sees how hard her mom works every day to make their family happy, even on the toughest days. Her mom always gives her best, no matter what, and that has taught Mia to never give up and to always give her all in everything she does.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

One of the proudest moments in Mia’s dance journey was when she pushed through two injuries right before Nationals—once dancing in a sling and another time in an ankle brace. She could’ve easily chosen to sit it out, but instead, she worked hard to recover and refused to give up. Being able to perform at Nationals despite the setbacks showed her that with determination and belief in herself, she can overcome anything.
