They love the excitement of playing with their team, the bonds formed with friends, and the chance to meet new people through sport. Being part of a team helps them grow in confidence, learn responsibility, and develop leadership skills. They enjoy working together toward a common goal, celebrating wins, learning from losses, and always supporting one another both on and off the ice.
Her coaches inspire her because they encourage fair play, teamwork, and always lead by example. They push her to do her best, support her through challenges, and teach her the value of effort, respect, and resilience. Their positive attitude and dedication to every player—regardless of skill level—make her feel valued and motivated. They’ve helped shape her into not just a better athlete, but a better person.
One of the proudest moments was when she stepped up as a new hockey player to go in net after their goalie fell ill—without hesitation. She showed courage, team spirit, and a willingness to try something new under pressure. Since then, she’s embraced the role with pride. What makes us even prouder is her sportsmanship—win or lose, she always skates over to try and fist bump the opposing goalie, showing respect and kindness every game.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
