What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Mj loves the competition. He is very ambitious and determined. Mj loves competition and the feeling of being successful. Mj had very little control over over his cancer battle although he overcame it so to be in control on the football field feels amazing to him.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Mj is inspired by Trent Williams. He was the offensive tackle that was diagnosed with a rare and potentially fatal form of cancer called (DFSP). Trent life inspired my son because he never gave up and he continued to fight and overcame every obstacle thrown his way. Trent also plays the same position my son MICHAEL plays. Off the field Trent Faith in GOD despite every storm he went through remain strong and he never strayed away.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

When my son first went back out there on the football field after battling leukemia, he was nervous and scared. He didn’t want to get hit out of the fear of not being able to get back up. Every time he looked at the field, the first thing that came to mind was when he was running and his leg pain he encountered prior to his leukemia diagnosis. It was the final game of the season, and my son sacked the quarterback and forced a turnover on the ball which in return helped his team win.
