What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

I love playing sports because it keeps me active, gives me the opportunity to make new friends and be competitive. I love winning games and bringing home championship rings, but I also know I learn a lot from my losses. I love when I train hard and make the perfect play in game because I put the work in during practice. I like staying busy and being active. It keeps me in shape so I’m healthy and strong. My teammates make sports the best part of my day, they are my best friends.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

I’m inspired by the greats like Ohtani, Buddah Baker, Tyreek Hill, Odell, and Morant. I’m also inspired by my coaches. I’ve had great coaches that work jobs, get a few hours of sleep and show up to train us. They don’t complain about being tired and they do the work with us. They train and compete with us and I think that’s makes a great athlete. I’m also inspired by my teammates. They will show up no matter what. They train every day and make plays that seem impossible sometimes.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

My proudest moment was winning the state championship in baseball. I had the opportunity to pitch in that tournament and I did really well. I turned the game around and we won. It felt great to make my team proud, and also to make myself proud. I had a crazy journey with that team and pitching in that season, so earning that win was a big deal. It really showed that I was capable of being a great pitcher. Sometimes being the underdog is nice because winning feels even better.
