NCAA heavyweight National Champion wrestler Wyatt Hendrickson. Mickey was inspired by Wyatt because going into his final match he was the underdog to win the national title. With less than 25 seconds left in the 3rd period he got the takedown and rode out a 2 time Olympic gold medalist for the win. A feat that taught Mickey a valuable lesson. Nothing is over until it’s over. Give 110% until the clock hits all zeroes.
I would have to stay qualifying for the state wrestling tournament in Illinois for the 2024-2025 season. Mickey worked so hard and overcame so much adversity throughout the season. Often times staying 30-45 min after practice to put in extra work with his coaches. He has an incredible drive and attitude. He deserves any and all recognition he gets.
