Mikail thrives from the feeling of his individual accomplishments when he does jiu-jitsu. His confidence and knowledge shines through every single time. His eagerness to win, learn and be 1% better than the day before is admirable and inspirational.
His Professor, who is also his father, is his biggest inspiration. He works hard to not only to make his Professor proud but also himself and his fellow teammates on his competition team. Jiu-jitsu has enabled him to unlock not only his individual achievements but also his his sportsmanship while cheering on his team during every competition.
The day that he was able to shake his opponents hand and thank them for the fight even though he had lost. This showed me the immense growth within him where he was able to put his sadness and ego aside and understand that sometimes we lose but we always remain respectful to our opponent and the art of jiu-jitsu.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
