Receive Text UpdatesMila loves basketball because it's fun! She came home in the 4th grade, post-Covid, with a school team tryout flyer and said "Dad, I want to do this!" and has been hooked ever since. She loves making connections whether it's making friends or meeting her heroes. Mila loves the challenge and the work it takes to get better everyday.
Mila is competitive by nature. Her peers inspire her to work hard on her skill. Kyrie Irving and Malaysia Fulwiley inspire her to work on her craftiness and creativity. Coach Vanessa McClendon inspires her to push past her limits. Coach JS Nash inspires her by emphasizing self accountability, unwavering belief in her talent and working towards her goal of playing D1 basketball and someday in the WNBA. Last but not least, her family inspires her with their support and unconditional love.
Mila learning to use her voice makes me the proudest. Whether its being a vocal leader on the court, encouraging teammates or opponents, standing up for herself and others, or communicating with her coaches and referees. Mila is the type of player that will stop a game to help up an injured opponent, even if she has an advantage (open layup or fast break). She has a fierce desire to win and to compete, and it shows in how she plays and communicates.
