I love the intensity and drive I get from being on the volleyball court! There is an overall feeling of excitement & joy playing volleyball gives me that is like nothing else in the world - it’s just me, my team and the opposing side. Playing volleyball breaks me away from reality for just a moment and allows me to be in an element of just passion and fun. I also love the bonds I make with my teammates from being part of this sport!
I know this may sound typical, but my mom is who inspires me on & off the court. It doesn’t matter if I win, lose, had a bad game or when I get a crazy kill in a set, she inspires me because of her constant support. She is always at the end of the game & says 4 words to me, “I’m proud of you”! Her words give me faith on my bad days & motivation on my good ones. My mom inspires me because no matter the point, the set, or the game she reminds me to play for my love of volleyball !
In March 2024, Milan went up for a block & landed on the opposing players foot. This caused her to sprain her ankle in the 1st set of the championship game. She was carried off the court & through tears she begged to continue. Playing was no longer an option that day, but how she handled this is what made me proud! With a wrapped ankle & ice, Milan went back to her team & became the loudest cheerleader on the bench! Hi 5’s, cheers & her big smile is how she continued to support her team!
