Mitchell’s favourite part of playing any sport is the challenge to be a little bit better every day. There is a local clothing company called OHMY apparel, which stands for Out Hustle My Yesterday. This is the motto he tries to live up too. Whether it ensuring proper nutrition, sleep, or getting in reps on an off day he continually tries to find ways to improve himself. Oh and hitting dingers, he loves that too!!
Mitch has an older cousin who he has watched reach some pretty incredible achievements in his sports journey (representing Canada at the little league World Series, making the Vauxhall Academy of baseball team, and now playing college baseball). This inspires Mitch to continue to dream big for his future as well. It also inspires him to put in the work necessary to achieve his goals as he has seen first hand what determination and dedication it takes to be successful.
What makes me most proud is to see Mitch growing into a respectfully young man who values the privilege it is to play sports and learn the skills of teamwork that he will carry with him his whole life. The Vauxhall Academy of baseball has a motto written in their locker room that says Better person…Better Player. Success in sports isn’t just about winning, it’s about being a good teammate, appreciating good play , and learning the lessons that the game can teach!
