She loves that Taekwondo goes beyond being a sport. Yes, there is physical benifits such as improving your balance, staying flexible, and building up muscle strength. However, to her it’s also a sport that helps build character, morals, responsibility, discipline, and leadership. It’s a sport that you can always continue to build and improve on, therefore, it shows that growing as a person never stops.
Instructor Chan-jun! Even though he is a high school student, I look up to him because he demonstrates great dedication in Taekwondo. He is always patient and never hesitates to help someone that is in need. He always shows respect and is a great role model to others.
My proudest moment was seeing the joy on her face after her first class. She is a natural in the sport. Since then, she has fallen deeper in love with the sport and is a member of her gym‘s Black Belt Club/Demonstration Team. Most kids quit as soon as they get their black belt, but she is still one of the few pushing on and is currently a 2nd degree working towards her 3rd degree.
