What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Nicholas loves how difficult figure skating is. No matter how good you get, there are always new things to learn. He particularly loves working new jumps, getting quad rotation jumps, and incorporating it into a fun and entertaining program. See his jumps on his Instagram!

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Nicholas’ biggest on ice role model is Yuzuru Hanyu. His skating skills and jumps were some of the best ever, and he overcame numerous obstacles to achieve greatness. On ice, Nicholas’ coaches, both old and new, inspire him. They believe in him and push him to expand his boundaries.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

One of my proudest moments of Nicholas is watching him come back from a difficult ending to his season last year, fight to train, and then to compete in his first competition this season setting new personal records and landing triple axels in both programs for the first time. His tenacity and resilience are life long traits.
