What I love most about playing soccer is that it’s where I feel most like myself. I love the competition, but it’s more than that. It’s the challenge of outthinking a defender, the rush of a perfect pass, and even the moments where I mess up and have to shake it off and keep going. Soccer teaches me resilience, teamwork, and dedication. At the end of the day, soccer makes me happy. It’s not just a game to me, it’s the thing that pushes me, grounds me, and reminds me why I love to work so hard.
My biggest inspiration on and off the field is my family. My stepdad is an amazing coach who’s pushed me to grow as both a player and a person. My little brother is one of the most dedicated defenders I know he never gives up, and that motivates me to work harder. And my mom? She’s my rock. Whether we win or lose, she’s in the stands, cheering. Their support, commitment, and love for the game and for me keep me grounded and inspired every day.
One of the moments I’m proudest of in my athletic journey is coming back to soccer after quitting when I was 12. I stopped playing right before the switch to 11v11. But three years later, I realized how much I missed it. Coming back wasn’t easy I had to catch up fast, rebuild my skills, and prove myself all over again. But I put in the work, stayed focused, and ended up making top teams at every club I tried out for. That experience showed me that it’s never too late to go after what you love.
