Whether she’s leading by example or cheering them on from the sidelines, she inspires others to believe in themselves. She isn’t just an athlete—she’s a mentor, a role model, and a true gem on and off the mat.
Nixon is inspired by her coaches, teammates, and especially her older sister Nicole, who also cheers. Nicole shows her what hard work, passion, and resilience look like—both on and off the mat. Watching Nicole lead with confidence and kindness motivates Nixon to do the same. She pushes herself to be her best, not just as an athlete, but as someone who lifts others up and leads with heart.
At NCA this year, during an active shooter scare, Nixon was backstage. Told to run, she led teammates out, stayed calm, found a safe ride, used a stranger’s phone to call me, listed who was with her, and made sure coaches knew who was safe. Her bravery and composure made me prouder than any trophy ever could.
