What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Oaklyn is a very quick learner. She learns fast and applies what she learns. Tournaments is where she thrives the most. Win or lose she is always a good sport.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

This one is a tough one. Oaklyn has so much support and so many that teaches her. If you ask her she will probably say I don't know. I do know she inspires me.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

Oaklyn has a unique story. She came to us 3yrs. She never got the chance to do sports so that was the 1st thing she wanted to do. Jujutsu is what we chose and it was the best decision. Seeing her grow in the sport and all the work she puts in it is so rewarding. Seeing her arm raised when she wins a tournament puts the biggest smile on my face. She is just an amazing child. She also plays basketball for her school but does Jujutsu year round.
