Oliver loves every moment on the soccer field — whether it’s kicking, dribbling, or juggling the ball in the backyard, the game brings him pure joy. He’s also a true student of the sport, spending hours watching YouTube videos of his favorite soccer icons and asking thoughtful questions every day about the game, the leagues, the competitions, and the players.
Oliver finds his greatest inspiration in his dad, who has shared a lifelong passion for soccer with him. From playing in Saturday drop‑in leagues together to endless conversations about the game, that bond fuels Oliver’s love for soccer. They share the same heroes — legends like Pelé, Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappé, and Roger Milla — whose skill, creativity, and dedication motivate Oliver to keep improving every day.
My proudest moment was when Oliver’s team, SWU Boca U10, won their first trophy at a Calgary CMSA soccer tournament this year. After coming up short in their previous three tournaments, the team kept working hard, stayed focused, and finally defeated one of the top U10 teams in the city to claim the title. Seeing their determination pay off — and the pure joy on their faces — was truly unforgettable.
