What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

The community, the brotherhood, the grit, the competition with himself and others, the goal is attainable! To be top 3 at state( (even #1) is attainable which fuels his fire. He and his brother work together and keep each other focused. Sports is his life The instant success at running makes cross country and track fun for Oliver. He still doesn’t know how good he really is , he steadily PR’s so it’s exciting for him. The runner is a different breed so the camaraderie and team is powerfu

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

For wrestling, his opponents, his record, his dad and brother who is also a great wrestler. He finally took accountability for himself in this sport he is doing on for himself now, not his dad who helps coach. College is on Oliver’s mind. He wants to excel this last hs season and wrestling at a higher level is motivation. For running, beating diff opponents and breaking. His PR is the personal reward. His team also inspires him to be a leader and they all push and inspire each other!

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

Oliver started xc his jr year and ended up being the one runner that filled in he spot they needed. He was the missing link, he pushed to beat the one runner at the end of the race, therefore his team qualified t ok state by 1 point. It was so exciting. Oliver had his 100th wrestling win as a Junior and placed 5th on the podium at state finals. He’s an all American wrestler. He’s a 3 sport varsity athlete . He’s so valuable in each sport
