What my daughter loves most about track and field is the way it constantly challenges her to be better — not just against competitors, but against her own limits. She thrives on the discipline it takes to train, the focus it requires at the starting line, and the rush of adrenaline in every race. For her, running isn’t just a sport — it’s freedom, confidence, and drive all in one.
My daughter is most inspired by her coach, who saw potential in her before she fully saw it in herself. Whether it’s early morning practices, tough meets, or setbacks, her coach’s constant belief and encouragement have helped shape her both as an athlete and as a person.
What makes my daughter most proud is winning 1st place in the relay at OFSAA. It wasn’t just about crossing the finish line first — it was the result of months of hard training, trust in her teammates, and performing under pressure on the biggest stage in high school athletics. That victory represented teamwork, discipline, and the belief that anything is possible when you don’t give up.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
