My daughter loves the sense of teamwork and connection with her teammates most about playing her sports. In cheerleading, she loves the energy, the performance aspect, and how everyone relies on each other to hit the routines perfectly. In volleyball, she enjoys the excitement of the game, making a great play, and how every point is a team effort. Both sports have helped her grow in confidence, discipline, and friendships.
My daughter is inspired by her coaches and teammates, both on and off the field. She looks up to her cheer coach for their dedication and the way they push the team to be their best while still having fun. In volleyball, she’s inspired by older players who lead with confidence and sportsmanship. Off the field, she draws a lot of inspiration from her mom and or dad, who shows her what hard work and balance look like every day.
One of the proudest moments in my daughter’s athletic journey was when she stepped up as a leader—encouraging her teammates during a tough game and helping lift their spirits. Whether it was sticking a difficult cheer stunt at competition or making a clutch play in volleyball, it wasn’t just the performance that made me proud—it was her confidence, teamwork, and heart. Seeing her grow into someone her team can count on means everything.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
