It isn’t just one thing that Parker loves most-it’s EVERYTHING about the experience that he loves about playing baseball. Parker’s heart & compassion for the game is like no other. He is eager to improve & ready for the next challenge. He loves his baseball friendships. He knows that the comradery between his teammates is what develops the TEAM be who they are as a team. Baseball has become more than just a sport for Parker. It brings him pure joy, builds confidence & teaches him life lessons.
God is Parker’s Inspiration-He teaches kindness, perseverance, & humility, all traits that he strives to show on & off the field. Often, he tells us that he wants to be someone that God uses on & off the field. Parker is inspired by players who train hard & never give up. He knows this is how he will improve & grow. Baseball isn’t just a sport for Parker. He wants his teammates and Coaches to see something different in him, not because he’s better, but because of the HEART he has for the game.
One moment in Parker’s baseball journey that stood out and made me especially proud was when our catcher had a tough inning and was struggling to keep his head up after a couple of errors. Parker walked over & put his arm around him, looked him in the eye and told him ‘It’s okay. We’ve got your back. Everyone makes mistakes”. That little act of kindness showed that Parker is learning more than just baseball, he’s learning how to lead and lift others up which are life’s lessons in growing up.
