The thrill of a big play, the excitement of throwing a no hitter, the unpredictability of the game. No two games are ever the same. Teammates become your family. It shows you that success comes from dedication, not luck. It teaches life lessons that go far beyond the game. It teaches patience, humility, resilience, how to be a leader, how to handle pressure, and how to never give up. Baseball, the best game on earth has shaped who I am. I feel lucky every time I get to play it.
I would say my biggest inspiration comes from my family, friends, along with my faith. Their constant support, encouragement, and their belief in me push me to be the best version of myself—both as a player and a person. My family has helped to teach me mental strength and discipline, my friends motivate me with their loyalty and energy, and my faith keeps me grounded, reminding me of my purpose and values no matter the outcome of the game.
One of the moments that stand out in Patrick’s athletic journey came during a basketball game. With the ball in his hands and the game/season near its end, he paused, handed it to a boy on the opposing team who hadn’t scored all season. He then encouraged him to take the shot. It wasn’t about points or winning—at that moment, it was about kindness, empathy, and lifting others up. That moment showed me the kind of person he truly is and that was better than winning any game.
