What I love most about running is that I just really love to run. I don’t need a reason it’s something that makes me feel calm, free, and happy. When I’m running, I feel like I can fly, like nothing else matters. It’s my favorite part of the day.

The proudest moment in my son’s athletic journey was when he got to represent El Paso, Texas in one of the most iconic track and field cities in the country — Eugene, Oregon. Knowing that I come from running on the streets of Mexico, where access to good facilities is limited, seeing my son compete at Hayward Field was a dream come true.
