What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

I love playing baseball because it’s super fun! Catcher and shortstop are my favorite positions. I like how exciting it is when I get a big hit. My team is awesome, we all get excited for each other and cheer a lot. It feels like having a bunch of best friends. I think God gave me the gift to work hard and get better at baseball. I always try my best and never give up, even when it’s hard. Baseball makes me really happy and I always want more games.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

My coach inspires me on the field and my daddy inspires me off the field, well, sometimes on the field too! They just want me to try my best, even when I get hard on myself. They always say, “Did you learn something? Did you have fun? Good, that’s all that matters!” That helps me feel better and not give up. I know they believe in me no matter what, and that makes me want to keep working hard and keep having fun!

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

I have a lot of proud moments, but I feel really proud when I hit the ball hard and get on base, sometimes even to 2nd or 3rd! I haven’t hit a homerun yet, but when I do, that will be my proudest moment ever!
