Piper loves how she’s able to express herself and her feelings through movement and she loves the connections she has made with her teammates at her studio and on her school dance team. She also loves that each genre lets her move in completely different ways. Piper has also learned so much about what her body is capable of and loves learning about fueling her body with the correct nutrition.
One of Piper’s biggest inspirations is her studio director, Devery McCoy. Devery has been such a positive influence and has always pushed Piper out of her comfort zone. The uplifting environment at her studio is one that you don’t find at many studios. She is also highly inspired by the U of Iowa dance team and the U of Minn dance team and by her current teammates.
I am always proud of her dancing, but what makes me the most proud is her positive attitude and willingness to put in the work. Piper is not arrogant - she knows that there is always room for improvement. If she’s not practicing, she’s at the gym. Her biggest competition is herself… As long as she obtains each new personal goal, she has won in her eyes!
