You decide who will be named Youth Athlete of the Year, featured in a 3BRAND ad in Sports Illustrated, and take home $25,000
What I enjoy most about my sport is how unique it is. Men’s gymnastics may not be as popular as other sports, but it requires just as much mental and physical dedication. What makes it stand out to me isn’t just the flips or the new skills we learn—it’s the history behind the sport, the specialized equipment we use, and the way it blends both individual performance and team competition.
Simone Biles inspires me because of her dedication and determination to push forward, even when faced with major challenges. For example, during the 2021 Olympics, she experienced the “twisties”—a term gymnasts use when someone loses control while spinning in the air. Instead of risking her health, she made the brave decision to step back and focus on her. Once she recovered mentally, she put in the work to get back into competition shape and returned stronger.
I’m most proud of making it to the Olympic Training Center in CO. I finished as the #6 ranked 10-year-old in the nation and earned a spot on the National Developmental Team. This gave me the opportunity to return the following year to train with their elite coaching staff. It was a true blessing to learn from new coaches, connect with other athletes, and grow in the sport I love. Gaining knowledge, building friendships, and doing what I’m passionate about—there’s nothing more I could ask for.
