What RJ loves the most about playing sports, is the thrill of walking onto a basketball court or football field, knowing he has the ability to lead a group of peers in a way that is not only beneficial to him but his team as well. He also loves the competitiveness of the sport. Each game is a new lesson, a new way to enhance his skill and perfect his craft. Also, being an only child until three years ago, sports has helped build his social skills, developing a different love & team camaraderie.
RJ’s dad is who inspires him on and off the field. An athlete and coach himself, he is who has molded RJ. The first person to put a ball in his hands at just six months. Not only has he trained RJ to be an athlete, but he has taught him about controlling emotions, being accountable and making the right decisions that will prepare him for the future.
RJ is so special and talented athletically it’s hard to pick one specific moment. But before I do, the thing I’m most proud of, is his daily commitment balancing school, training basketball, football, and soccer during their seasons, all while maintaining perfect grades and mastering his craft, excelling at a high level. RJ 4th grader carry his team to the championship game at Ballin On The Beach against #3 & #9 ranked teams in the country never played in a major tournament before. Incredible!
