What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

New challenges! Reese sets goals of what she wants to achieve. Even baby steps are big wins for her. She works with a mindset coach also to help her learn to set goals and celebrate them as they come. Reese loves gymnastics, jump rope and has also joined a crossfit teens club to help build more strength for her competitive sports. She loves trying new things. Gymnastics and skipping jump rope fulfills these cravings as they are continuing to learn new movements and skills.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

One of her favorite role models is Katelyn Ohashi. Katelyn was a Gymnast @ UCLA who was confident to show her personality through her dance and knows how to get her team and fans hyped up. She is inspirational because she is not afraid to be herself. Reese always says she just wants to have fun and show who she is through expression and dance and love of sport. She also is a fierce fan of her teammates. Hugs and cheer for them all as they compete.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

Grit! Every gymnast has an event that is extra challenging for them. For Reese it was beam. When she was younger, she had a coach that used to get frustrated with her cause she excelled in all events except beam. Her then Coach told her that beam will always hold her back in this sport. Through covid Reese was determined to be on her home beam a lot. She started gaining confidence and when she got back to gym after Covid she conquered the beam and now doing things she once thought was impossible
