What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

That he can standout in a positive way. Rowan has APS-1; an extremely rare autoimmune disorder that has caused multiple health issues. He is currently struggling with alopecia and has lost most of his hair. Kids make mean comments about his appearance and he is often looked at negatively. He loves that with baseball, he is constantly noticed-not because he looks different, but because he is a great athlete. baseball allows him to be seen as “the one to watch,” not the kid with a disease.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

coaches Justin Cavender & Neal Sears. Justin is a state trooper & my biggest hype man. He motivates me to be my best & truly believes in me. Neal is kind & patient. He lets me try different positions on the field & reminds me of my potential. Both inspire me to follow my dreams. I know I can with them in my corner! Most of all, my mom. she works so hard & still makes time to come to all of my games & cheer me on! she always tells me how proud she is & that I will be a star one day!

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

Definitely when he had an amazing hit (beautiful line drive) and a kid on the opposing team came up with an awesome snag and got him out- but instead of being mad or upset, Rowan immediately ran to the kid and gave him a fist bump and told him what a great play it was. No matter what, Rowan is the biggest sport, hyping up kids on his own team as well as his opponents. I couldn’t be more proud of the heart he puts into this sport. Next would be his first out of the park HR, which was a walk off!!
