What Rowynn loves most about the sport of competitive swimming, aside from being in the water, is the constant opportunity to push herself at every practice, to improve and become stronger. She also loves that the sport of competitive swimming is not only individual but also in a team setting, where you can encourage and support your team and help them reach their potential. It is a great feeling to see yourself and your teammates achieve personal goals you have been striving for.
Athletes across the world and certain coaches are an inspiration; seeing them work hard and succeed creates drive and determination within yourself. Rowynn has an extremely supportive family and friendship group that inspires her to keep chasing her dreams. Seeing these successes, whether big or small creates the motivation to keep going and always do more. Some swimmers in their swimming journey are still hitting milestones, and that inspires her to keep at it!!
The one moment that stands out in my mind the most was when Rowynn was racing at the Speedo Westerns Championships in Calgary and was seeded 1st for finals in the 200 breaststroke, and she blew that race away, achieving an Olympic Trials qualifying time and a gold medal at such a high-calibre meet.
