You decide who will be named Youth Athlete of the Year, featured in a 3BRAND ad in Sports Illustrated, and take home $25,000
He loves playing sports with his friends. Chanting in the dugout, rain delay games ( they play sliding games) Johnny freeze, he loves laying the “big hit” in football, stiff arms, scoring touchdowns, striking out kids, stealing bases and winning.
Mom and dad inspire him the most. Dad is always playing catch, taking him to get extra reps in for pitching, fielding, and hitting. Dad teaches him how to be a leader and relates sports to everyday life to help him understand that you gotta earn things you want to be successful. Mom is always there to pick him up after a tough game. She lets him know that it’s ok to make mistakes and always keep his head up. Mom is his biggest cheerleader.
The proudest I get of Ryan is when other parents (on our team and opponents) come up to me and talk about not only how he plays, but his team spirit for lifting up others. He loves walking up from SS to pump up his pitcher and giving a high five with their gloves, to helping team mates and opponents up off the ground after a tackle and patting their helmet or shoulder pads, to passing the basketball to the kids not so good on the team hoping they score. That is when I’m on cloud nine
