Because it’s the “medicine game” whether Ryan had a bad day at school, something tough personally, or something coming up in the future that makes him nervous..lacrosse makes it all fade away, at least while he’s on the field.
His family but specifically his grandpa, Grandpa and Grandma Gurba have pictures and newspaper articles all over their house of his accomplishments. They love him unconditionally, Ryan wants nothing more than to tell them that he made it to college to play lacrosse one day. Their love and pride keep him going.
When Ryan made the Team Canada Development program earlier this year. He hasn’t been playing lacrosse very long, he’s not the biggest nor is he the strongest and yet he keeps defying odds. When he gets told “no” or “you can’t” he pushes harder to reach his goals. He’s a small town kid that travels hours to practice, he mentors young kids so they can have what he didn’t, practices everyday, and works hard.. so he earned his spot as one of the two kids from his province to make team Canada.
