Ryder has been drawn to team sports most because he loves working together as a unit and the camaraderie. He also enjoys learning new skills and seeing how he can progress with practice, coaching, and age.
He has been fortunate to have the best coaches in every sport he has tried. I believe he has appreciated something unique about each of them. He has particularly valued the one on one pep talks and special moments they have shared. One moment that comes to mind is when his football coach picked him up in the air after he rushed and flagged the quarterback.
When he received the Golden Hammer award in wrestling. The award is given to athletes who demonstrate great work ethic, grit, and perseverance. He received this in his first year of trying the sport.
