What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

The thing Rylee loves most is how her sports challenge her to push herself and master skills she never thought she could achieve. Being able to see the power her body holds and the ability to harness that power to achieve success is a special thing. She also treasures the comradery and friendships she builds with her teammates and coaches and there is nothing more rewarding to her than the thrill of a hard fought win and the pride of knowing she was a part of making that happen.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Rylee is inspired not just by great athletes, but by everyday people who are great leaders and even greater humans. Her role models aren't famous celebrities, but everyday people who make a difference. From teachers who encourage her to do her best, coaches who push her to grow, on and off the field to classmates and peers who lead by example and show kindness and resilience. Seeing the way these people conduct themselves inspires Rylee to be her best self in everything she does.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

Of all Rylee's achievements, we are proudest of how she chose to stick it out and thrive at her new high school, specialized for athletes. Beating out more than 800+ applicants for just over 200 spots, her biggest challenge wasn't getting in, it was staying in. Struggling to find her place she could have given up and returned to the comfort of friends at her local high school. Instead she joined the volleyball and badminton teams, was voted MVP, found her people and won Athlete of the year.
