What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

I really enjoy pitching; I love it when I strike out batters and hit home runs. I also enjoy cheering on my teammates so we can all play our best. I've have played with teammates both younger and older than me, and we've learned a lot from each other—I really appreciate the team atmosphere. In the short time I've played, I've learned alot from my coaches, teammates and my father, who played in his younger days. I've always admired his trophies and medals, and now I hope to earn my own.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

My family inspires me to keep pushing myself to do better and be the best I can be, and to never give up, even when I feel discouraged. My teammates and friends also motivate me—when I'm on the mound and I hear them chanting my name and cheering me on, it means a lot. My coaches, my grandma, and all the parents who come to watch Plus, one of my brother's friends who also plays baseball encourages me to aim even higher and go further.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

Rylin was on fire in the first inning, striking out three players in a row, and then he hit a home run in the same game! He and his dad are always putting in a lot of effort to help him get better at baseball, whether they’re at indoor facilities practicing full mound to plate pitches or in the batting cages, or just out on a ballfield playing catch. They’re constantly practicing and dedicated to helping him improve in all aspects of the game.
