Salvador loves basketball because it helps him grow, not just as an athlete, but as a young man of faith, discipline, and determination. Every time he steps on the court, he finds purpose. To him, the game is more than a sport; it’s a way to express himself, test his limits, and build strong character through hard work and dedication.
Salvador is inspired by Kobe Bryant for his focus, energy, and relentless work ethic on the court. Off the court, Kobe’s compassion, love for family, and dedication to uplifting others showed Salvador the importance of character and purpose. He admires Kobe’s “Mamba Mentality” and strives to carry that same drive, discipline, and heart; playing hard, staying humble, and always leading with faith and kindness.
After a tough loss, Salvador saw a teammate crying and, instead of focusing on his own frustration, he comforted and encouraged him. That moment made me incredibly proud. It showed Salvador’s heart, leadership, and compassion. He proved that being a great athlete isn’t just about winning, but about supporting others and showing strength through kindness.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
