This was Saniya’s first year on a Senior team and was able to conquer the mat all while dealing with extreme anxiety from personal trauma.

My proudest moment was watching Saniya go out on the mat and perform her heart out on the days when her anxiety was at its worst. Those mornings were filled with tears, fear, anxiousness, loss of appetite, hugs and wanting to just curl up in a ball with a blanket over her head but the moment she stepped out on the mat, all those emotions went away and the sassy, fierce cheerleader that everyone knows Saniya to be would come out. Her RESILIENCE, BRAVERY and COURAGE is what made me proudest!!
