What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

1. Sawyer is competitive and loves to compete. He loves the challenges that it brings and knowing that each day he gave 100% doing what he loves to do. He loves his team and making memories and being able to compete with teammates that have become like family.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

2. His biggest inspiration would be his sister. She was born with severe medically complex issues and every day was a fight to just survive. He looked up to her and she gave him that willingness to not give up even when it’s tough.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

3. Sawyer started off behind. He’s the youngest and the smallest on his team but he puts in the work to be one the best on his team. This past year his sister passed away. He’d dealt with more than most kids his age but he didn’t let that get him down or defeat him. He proudly wears a sticker on his helmet for his sister and continues to show up even when it’s hard.
