What I love about sports is how every competition teaches me something new and makes me stronger. I love the energy, focus, and teamwork that each match brings. Sports push me out of my comfort zone and help me grow, both physically and mentally. I've built strong relationships, learned to lead, gained confidence and learned to make mistakes without letting them define who I am. Being an athlete has shaped who I am, and I’m truly grateful to God for the opportunity.
The person who inspires me most is my mom. She pushes me to be my best, supports me as a coach, mentor, and cheerleader, and is always there no matter what. She's kind, strong, and leads with love. She's taught me to be confident, speak up, and do what's right even when it's hard. Her example of patience, faith, and leadership inspires me every day. I’m so grateful to have her as my role model.
A memorable moment in our daughter’s athletic journey came in 7th grade when she struggled during a loud, high-pressure game. Overwhelmed by voices from all sides, she lost focus and confidence. Afterward, we talked about mental strength and tuning out distractions. In the next game, she came in composed, followed her coach, and played one of her best games. That moment became a key turning point in her growth as a leader.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
