Join the CompetitionSean has loved swimming since he was 6 months old. He enjoys the thrill of competition, meeting new people at meets, and forming lifelong friendships with those who share his passion. One of his favorite parts of the sport is teaching younger kids how to swim and be safe in the water. Sharing his knowledge and giving back to the swim community brings him joy. Swimming is more than a sport to him—it’s a way of life he’s deeply passionate about.
Sean has been inspired by Michael Phelps since he was a little kid. Now at 14, he’s even more inspired by how the Phelps Foundation promotes water safety, swimming skills, and healthy living among young people. He is also inspired by his coach, Ricky Rascon, who believes in him and constantly pushes him to be the best version of himself. Their support and example have inspired Sean to grow as both an athlete and a person.
One moment that makes me proudest is when Sean came back from a major shoulder injury. He had just one month to prepare for the state championship after four months out. He never gave up—waking up at 5 a.m., staying late at practice, and working with anyone who could help. His hard work paid off: he was a 7x finalist, placing 2nd in the 50 free and 3rd in the 400 IM. His grit, heart and determination truly inspired me.
