Thank you for generously supporting Selah in this year’s competition. Your support helps empower the V Foundation for Cancer Research and the Why Not You Foundation in their respective missions to save lives and empower today's youth to become tomorrow's leaders.
Selah loves that she can express herself through sports. She can go hard for something with a competitive edge and it’s ok. It’s ok to learn more about herself even during a loss. She’s able to set her goals and work hard to achieve them. She’s still a kid, she loves the comraderie, the pizza parties, the travel, & the win.
She’s inspired by her older brother. He’s narrowed down his sports choice to soccer. She sees that he has accomplished so much on & off the field as a student athlete, leader, & friend. She thinks he’s the coolest person, & he doesn’t shun her. Of course their is sibling rivalry but they are each others biggest fans. Even when people unconsciously compare them, they still back each other up.
This season her bball team only lost one game after moving to a new league. There was controversy over a players unsigned waiver & the league suspended our coach & his daughter. They also suspended Selah due to having the same last name. She showed up anyway having faith in her team, the league corrected her suspension & without the coach & another player, they won the championship. She overcame & was extremely proud of herself & her team!
