Shawn loves the competition and being able to work together with teammates to get to the same goal in baseball. He loves the challenge and how it combines skills, strategy, and athleticism. He is able to use skills that he learns in baseball in the real world. He also loves the fact that any player can have an impact on the game and can be a leader for the team.
Zach Evans is a baseball player who just graduated high school in Texas. He is like a big cousin and mentor to Shawn. He inspires him because of his hard work, dedication, and love for baseball. Being able to see his hard work pay off and getting a scholarship for college is an inspiration.
The proudest moment in Shawn’s athletic journey is when he overcame his struggles at the plate and putting in the mental and physical work to get better. It’s still a journey but one he is starting to connect with what he can control. Through this journey I am proud to see him grow as a leader on and off the field and grow in his value and character through his faith.
