What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Having fun with his team and learning how to support and cheer them on! Shea also enjoys getting up to bat and that feeling of making CONTACT!! He also loves being part of a great play when he gets the ball from 3rd to 1st base.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Babe Ruth- because of his persistence to continue moving along in his career. Shea is inspired that by Babe’s continuing to work hard for him to the “big league!”

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

Shea has over come a lot in his medical life, and we are immensely proud that he is able to play baseball at all! Last season was very frustrating with being able to hit the ball. In our last game, he had the perfect pitch and hit a double into the outfield! Not only did he have CONTACT, but he also listened to both base coaches and ran his hardest to get to second base!
