Thank you for generously supporting Shiloh in this year’s competition. Your support helps empower the V Foundation for Cancer Research and the Why Not You Foundation in their respective missions to save lives and empower today's youth to become tomorrow's leaders.
Shiloh's favorite part of playing basketball comes down to the spirit of sportsmanship. She feels most alive when collaborating with her teammates, whether spoken or unspoken, and working together to accomplish a unified goal. This synergistic spark lends itself to great competition and fun gameplay, she even acknowledges that in the other teams they are up against; reminding us that it's not just about the W, but the friends and/or rivals on our journey that make us better athletes and people.
Shiloh is most inspired by her 3 older brothers who all played basketball growing up. While their individual athletic paths may have diverged - the influence on Shiloh's awareness, technique, leadership, and overall passion runs deep from within each of them. Her determination to make it "big league" represents a beacon of hope for her brothers, and they proudly support her every step of the way. And it is because of that loving support system that Shiloh rises again to each and every challenge.
Throughout Shiloh's basketball career, she has had a variety of coaching styles to navigate and not all of them pleasant. However she's shown true resilience and positivity by uplifting her teammates even when her own leaders were unable to. It was then that I knew that this was bigger than her being the best in a game, but that she has been evolving as a human being and will be able to take on critical challenges in life with grace, humility and strength even if I'm not around to guide her.
